Job Summary

Responsible for coordination and supervision of cash and investment reporting functions for all locations of LMC. Must be able to skillfully analyze and understand techniques and procedures in the work performed. Must be able to ensure accuracy in all work performed.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or Finance
Minimum Years of Experience: 1 Year of experience as a staff accountant
Substitutable Education & Experience: None.
Required Certifications/Licensure: None.
Required Training: Experience and knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
 

Essential Functions

  • Above average independent action and decision-making.  Must be able to work from general direction.  Only unusual cases are referred to manager.
  • Frequent use of judgment is necessary to recognize when standard procedures require modification to meet constantly changing circumstances.  The method of approach and data must often be developed as part of the analysis, which requires considerable planning.
  • Maintain a positive and encouraging environment for staff.
  • Numerical ability required to perform numerous rapid and accurate arithmetic computations.
  • Responsible for gathering and analyzing information with a high degree of accuracy.  Thoroughness and reliability are essential due to the detailed nature of the work.
  • Has access to information relating to Hospital policy and practices which is restricted to specific persons:  the utmost discretion and integrity are recognized and requirements of the job.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Regular contact with individuals throughout the hospital, as well as outside the hospital.  Tact is required in these contacts, and the employee assumes the responsibility for maintaining harmonious relationships.
  • Must be flexible and able to accept changes as circumstances warrant
  • Light physical work.  Work is fairly sedentary, but involves occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs.), considerable walking, some bending, stooping and squatting.
  • Provides information, explain accounting transactions or resolves accounting issues as directed.
  • Must be able to use various software applications, such as spreadsheets and databases to assemble, manipulate and/or format data for reports.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
