Job Summary

Manages the analysis, design, programming, testing, documentation, implementation and auditing of multiple comprehensive Revenue Cycle systems and ensures analytical support is provided to the entire Revenue Cycle group. Coordinates resolution of system processes and performance issues while interacting with functional users, and internal and external technology resources. Assists in evaluation, analysis, maintenance and development of system functionality to meet business objectives including participating in project plan development/tracking and workflow analysis. Serves as liaison between Revenue Cycle and IS technology teams as well as outside vendors. Assists with end user education and training deployment. Manages testing for all revenue cycle systems. Manages scanning functions for entire revenue cycle and oversees Cash Research Associate functions related to Revenue Integrity operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience: 5 Years of experience in a related business services area
Substitutable Education & Experience: 5 Years of Experience can be substituted for one of the following:
Associates Degree in Computer Science, Management Science, or Business Administration with 3 years of experience in related business systems;
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Science, Business Administration or Health Information Management with 1 year of experience in field or related business system area (revenue cycle and/or finance/accounting).
Required Certifications/Licensure: Must be willing to obtain vendor and/or technical system certification(s)
Required Training: Considered a super user in area of expertise with relevant IT experience;
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
Proficient in computers, use of related business information systems, and Microsoft Office solutions;
Experience in use of related business/financial information systems.

Essential Functions

  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Managing data and the flow of information including a thorough knowledge of all information system programs and applications that operate in Business Services departments and how they integrate with the main Hospital Information System (HIS).
  • Active involvement in supporting requests received via web-based system, e-mails, and walk-ups.
  • Provides support to include:  trouble shooting and analysis, system integrity, new user setups on various systems, error resolution, escalation, application testing, workflow knowledge,  implementation, project management and security administration. 
  • Researches and supports the correction of complex system issues and continually monitors systems and evaluates processes to meet changing requirements as well as current technology.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Actively participates in the testing of software modifications prior to release to end users.  Works with users to define system requirements and resolve problems. 
  • Responsible for the day-to-day flow of imports and exports to various systems utilized by the Business Services group. 
  • Serves as liaison with IS staff in resolving system problems. 
  • Responsible for supervision of the Business Analysts and the Administrative Assistant positions within the department.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
