Job Summary
The Clinical Research Nurse is responsible for conducting clinical trials using good clinical practice under the auspices of the Principal Investigator (PI). This role is responsible for organizing the collection of data, documentation and record keeping activities pertaining to clinical research studies on behalf of a designated Lexington Medical Center Physician Network Practice. The coordinator promotes good clinical practices in the conduct of clinical investigations by possessing an in-depth knowledge of FDA regulations, human subject protection, thus, assuring compliance with protocol and regulatory requirements. The coordinator assists with coordination of the study - related activities of the investigator and all subjects.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education: Graduated from accredited nursing program
Minimum Years of Experience: 2 Years of nursing or other clinical experience
Substitutable Education & Experience: None.
Required Certifications/Licensure: Current South Carolina license as a Registered Nurse
Required Training: None.
Essential Functions
- Oversee all clinical operations related to conduct of the clinical trial (i.e. informed consent, procedure, visit coordination, supply accountability).
- Seeks out potential clinical trial opportunities
- Organizes study team to ensure all clinical areas are represented.
- Works with study team to ensure trial preparedness.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for subject recruitment, patient care, adverse event reporting, preparing the case report form (CRF), submitting CRFs and other data to the Sponsor as necessary and study close-out.
- Develops and maintains collection, reporting and tracking tools.
- Assists with preparation of Institutional Review Board submission and other regulatory requirements as needed.
- Clear on-going communication with patients, physician investigators, sponsors and other key players throughout the clinical trial process.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
