Job Summary
Performs a variety of duties required in the care and maintenance of hospital grounds. Mows, edges, rake, cultivate, etc. lawn while operating necessary machinery needed to complete assigned duties.

Required Training: Demonstrated ability to perform duties of a groundskeeper.
Essential Functions
- Mows and edges lawns, rakes and hauls leaves and debris; reseeds or resods bare spots as needed.
- Cultivates soil, plants and fertilizes seeds, flowers, tree seedlings and shrubs; weeds and thins flower beds; prunes and trims trees and shrubbery.
- Waters lawn, shrubs and flower beds; inspects for evidence of disease or insect infestation and sprays or dust chemicals on infected areas.
- Policies grounds and picks up and disposes of trash; clears bushes and debris or otherwise maintains wooded areas.
- Clears and cleans ditches and drains; keeps fire lanes clear of obstruction; removes snow from sidewalks and driveways.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operates truck or tractor; adjusts, repair and maintains lawn mowers, hand tools and other equipment used in performance of duties.
- Estimates, recommends and requests needed materials, supplies and equipment.
- As assigned, assists other trades in building maintenance operations.
- Maintains an optimistic and professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers. Shows courtesy, compassion and respect. Conforms to Service Excellence and "House Rules".
- Performs all other duties as assigned by authorized personnel or as required in an emergency, e.g., fire or disaster.
